Five people were killed here on Monday when the multi-utility vehicle they were travelling in collided head-on with a private bus at Hadadi village in Davangere taluk.
The police have identified the deceased as Rudraiah, 55, his wife Suma, 50, and their son Pradeep, 22. The other two deceased, Adarsh and Karthik, both 22, were family friends of the late couple.
The incident occurred when all the five members were returning in the multi-utility vehicle after visiting a temple in Chikkahongala village of Tarikere taluk at Chikmagalur district, the police said.
Rudraiah was a BSNL employee and a resident of P and T quarters in Davangere. Adarsh and Karthik were residing in KTJ Nagar.
