Booking a LPG refill cylinder has been made hassle-free across the State. Oil Marketing companies – IOC, HP, and BP – have recently extended the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) for booking refill cylinder across the State.

Under the system, a customer can book a refill cylinder using her/his mobile phone or land line from anywhere and anytime. The IVRS has been already successfully implemented in Bangalore about three years ago and a year ago in Belgaum district.

To book a refill cylinder, one has to dial common IVRS number – 8970024365 –  and select the language option (local language/English/ Hindi).

Then enter the telephone number of the distributor with the ISD code and the customer number. On pressing one, the booking process gets completed. Once the telephone number is registered in the system, all the details get recorded and the booking is done automatically from the next time.

Every time the booking is done, an SMS is delivered to the customer’s mobile number confirming it. The system sends another SMS after the delivery of the refill to the customer, IOC Deputy General Manager Dilip Rai said.

For those who have not been able to book the refill over their phones, oil companies have kept an user-friendly wireless phone at all distributors’ office. Customers can book their refills using the devise, he added.
