Soha Ali Khan is the personification of glamour and grandeur, may it be with her style statement or in her choice of roles in Bollywood.

The actress who was in the City recently, as the showstopper to the grand finale of ‘Myntra Bangalore Fashion Week’, talks about fashion, her relationship with her fiance Kunal and films.

“Usually Delhi and Mumbai are known for their fashion, but it is exciting to see that the show was into its eleventh edition,” she said. Dressed in an elaborate and elegant bridal costume, Soha looked like a princess. “I am a princess,” she said with a smile.  Soha who has been in the limelight recently, after her engagement with actor Kunal Khemu said that there’s a long time to go to start preparing for the wedding.

“Ever since we announced the engagement, people have been talking about the wedding, for which we have  no date set yet. A lot of designers who I have worked with have been asking about creating something special for the occasion, but we have a lot of time for that,” she said.

She added, in a playful mood, “We thought we had bought a few years, with this public announcement. Kunal and I, feel like we are married. The announcement just means that Kunal isn’t marrying anyone else and I’m not marrying anyone else. It doesn’t mean we will be marrying each other, it just means that we aren’t marrying other people.”

For Soha, it’s more about the relationship and less about the wedding day. “It is difficult to live with one person the rest of your life, especially if you live upto 90 years. Honesty and proper communication is important between the couple, and we try to maintain that always. Kunal and I talk a lot, about lots of things,” she said. Soha added that not all of the conversations are always easy to hear, but she said that integrity and honesty are most important in a relationship.

Her favourite roles till date remains ‘Khoya Khoya Chand’ by Sudhir Mishra. “The movie was about an actress in the 1950s and I think that was one of the most meaty roles that I did. I thought I did my best in that film,” she said. At the moment, she’s busy with the second schedule of a film on the 1984 riots.

“There’s another movie that I’m doing opposite Rahul Bose, which will start shooting in October,” she said.

Though Soha has family in Bollywood, she said that they do not interfere in each other’s projects. “My family is very independent. We are all grown up now. It has to be you in front of the camera and unless you are convinced about something, it doesn’t really translate well,” she said.

About her Bangalore connection, she said, “I come a lot to Bangalore for different reasons. My mother’s sister and her family are based in Bangalore and I have cousins here. I also shot ‘Mr Joe B. Carvalho’ in Bangalore.”
