Chiefs appointed

The Kannada and Culture Department has announced the list of appointments to the posts of presidents and members of its cultural academies.

M S Murthy has been re-appointed the president of the Karnataka Lalithakala Academy along with a 15-member team. B A Mohammed Hanif has been re-appointed as president of the Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy with a seven-member team. The government had annulled their appointments this June, following which the former chairpersons had approached the courts.

Kulyada Girish of Madikeri has been appointed president of Arebhashe Samskruti Sahitya Academy and Biddathanda Thimmaiah the president of Kodava Sahitya Academy. The appointments are for a tenure of three years.
