<p> Noted cartoonist B V Panduranga Rao’s cartoon on the theme of Electro Mobil has been selected at the annual Berlin Cartoon Contest. </p>.<p><br />The 71-year-old freelance cartoonist’s sketch depicts a car driven by battery power pulling the petrol car. <br /><br />The car is before a petrol pump displaying ‘Petrol No Stock’ board. The organisers, Kurtukunst Gallery, had given two themes - Electro Mobil and Berlin Wall.“The caricature, which I drew, depicts the current scenario on how rising fuel prices and pollution are making people depend on fuel-free vehicles,” Rao said.<br /><br />Pandu, as Rao is called, said 354 cartoonists from 63 countries took part, submitting 938 works this year.“Ninety-four selected works will be displayed on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the ‘Fall of Berlin Wall’ on November 9. I had submitted three to four caricatures, of which one was selected,” he added. <br /><br />The cartoonist had earlier bagged the ‘Best Cartoon’ award at the 2nd Sejong International Cartoon Contest-2013, in Seoul, South Korea. He had caricatured former prime minister Manmohan Singh. He has attended 60 national and international cartoon contests so far. His other feats include creation of the smallest and the biggest flip book and the smallest desk calendar.<br /></p>
