The legislators, who are making preparations for the much-awaited BBMP elections, met Chief Minister Yeddyurappa on Monday evening and urged him to spend more time in Bangalore in the coming days. The MLAs included Transport Minister R Ashok and Excise Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu.

According to sources, the MLAs urged the CM to tour all Assembly constituencies and interact with people on development. They also asked Yeddyurappa to introduce Yeshaswini health insurance scheme to the slumdwellers in Bangalore.

After giving a patient hearing to the MLAs, the CM is learnt to have asked them the reason for the defeat of the BJP in the Council polls in Bangalore Urban, despite the party having 17 MLAs, three MPs and four ministers. The CM reportedly told that he would call a meeting after the conclusion of on-going winter session of the Legislature.
