In an effort to substantiate its presence both on and off the internet, Arvind Internet Limited (AIL), the online arm of Arvind Limited has launched an online           shopping portal, “Creyate”, which the company hopes would personalise the online shopping experience, by allowing users to design the specifics of the apparel they wish to purchase.

Speaking at the launch, Executive Director of Arvind Ltd, Kulin Lalbhai, said, “This is the age of personalised commerce, people want personalised products and this portal should cater to that growing market. Users can choose the fabric, the fit and design specifics like collar and pocket styles to ensure a unique product.”

The company announced in a statement that it aims to cross a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore in three year, which Lalbhai said was achievable as demand for shopping online has grown rapidly in the last few years.

The portal, which offers only western formal and semi-formal wear for men and women can be accessed by users online or at “Creyate” stores which operate in Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Delhi.

On investments in the project, Lalbhai said, “The manufacturing technology has all been built inhouse. The capital outlay was about Rs 20 crore for the first year, and the model is such that it should cater to global markets as well,” On operations and delivery, he said the company has entered into various partnerships to enable quick delivery of products.

The company will launch “Creyate” stores in 15 cities within the next year and extend their range to traditional clothing by next year, to strengthen their position in the market.
