JOIN USA fan got the shock of his life here at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Wednesday when he was turned away by the ticket checkers stationed at the entrance for ‘smelling of alcohol’.
The fan, who was holding a legitimate ticket to ‘West Block A’ for the India Under-23 clash with their Pakistan counterparts, has been a regular at Bengaluru FC matches. The distraught fan, who has been a resident of Bangalore for quite sometime, called the move as ‘pathetic’.
“Last season when BFC had met us fans to discuss steps for the new season, we had wanted them to ask permission for beer inside stadium.
“But looks like the cops won’t even tolerate the smell of alcohol now,” the fan added.
While there was nothing stated before the game about the ‘smell of alcohol’, the guidelines to allow fans inside the stadium only mentions that tobacco products and alcohol are banned inside the arena.
