Chief minister likens Modi to Hitler

Accuses PM of misleading people on Gujarat model
Last Updated 20 August 2014, 19:36 IST

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday likened Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Hitler and his team members to Joseph Goebbels, the master propagandist of the Nazi regime, and predicted that bad things were in store for the country under the Modi regime.

Addressing Congress workers on the birth anniversary celebrations of Rajiv Gandhi and Devaraj Urs, organised at the KPCC office, he called Modi a dictator and alleged that he (Modi) did not believe in democracy.

“That is why he has clipped the powers of his ministers and is running the government with the help of bureaucrats. He has been following the RSS” fascist ideology, the chief minister said.

Modi came to power by misleading the people of the country on the so-called Gujarat model. He and his team members made people believe that Gujarat was a model state.

Like Goebbels, he and his team members try to make falsehood look like truth by uttering the same thing 100 times, the chief minister said.

Telecom revolution

Former prime minister, the late Rajiv Gandhi, had a vision for the country and took a number of initiatives. Telecom revolution was his brainchild.

“The BJP, however, claims that the Congress has done nothing for the country. The BJP leaders are liers and they do not have shame,” he said.

Backward classes

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president G Parameshwara said the Congress government in the State had taken number of measures for the development and welfare of backward classes.

All these measures should be publicised properly. The KPCC will chalk out a plan to take up a statewide campaign for this purpose, Parameshwara added.
