Due to the fast-paced lives we lead, most of us do not have the time to cook an elaborate homely meal for ourselves. But one can still relish the taste of home during lunch or dinner with ‘Tiffinbox etc’, a restaurant that offers exciting dishes from various parts of India.

The restaurant offers a menu, which consists of dishes prepared with high quality ingredients and utmost care to ensure that classic recipes are prepared with perfection. The place is open from lunch to dinner and the pricing is consciously aimed at encouraging repetitive dining.

So what makes the restaurant different from the rest? The place is quirky with a colourful, rustic and contemporary feel. It seats more than 100 people and serves tiffin boxes, which contain curries, vegetables dishes and other staples.

And one has the option to choose from the Delhi Tiffinbox, which contains ‘paneer’ or ‘murgh makhani’ as the main dish; Kolkata Tiffinbox, which contains vegetable curry or ‘kosho mongsho’ chicken or mutton and Mumbai Tiffinbox which has the ‘chicken’ or ‘mutton kolhapuri’.

The other options include Bengaluru Tiffinbox, which includes ‘Diwani handi’ or chicken or ‘mutton chettinadu’ and Birmingham Tiffinbox, which has the Birmingham ‘Balti chicken’. The best part is that all these tiffin boxes contain rice, ‘chapathi’, ‘yellow dal’ and ‘gulab jamun’ too.

“The portions are generous and everything is reasonably priced. Our main idea was to provide a homely option to those who love a nice and healthy meal. We realised that the people of the City can identify with these food styles,” says Ashwani
Basantani, Brand Head for Equity Brands of KA Hospitality Private Limited, which owns this concept restaurant.

“Apart from the novelty tiffinbox sets, the restaurant also offers a lot of Indian dishes for everyone. There is also a lunch buffet and the ‘a la carte’ option,” says Ashwani. Light snacks like ‘idli’, ‘pav bhaji’, ‘aloo paratha’ and ‘chaats’ are also available here along with signature desserts like ‘chilli ice-cream’, ‘paan ice-cream’ and sugar-free ‘gajar ka halwa’.

‘Tiffinbox etc’ is located in Inorbit Mall, EPIP Area, Whitefield and is open from 12 noon to 3.30 pm and 7 pm to 11 pm. For reservations, call 28029599.
