Last Updated 24 August 2014, 19:01 IST

Three personnel attached to Army Service Corps, who were allegedly drunk, created ruckus at Lalbagh Botanical Gardens on Sunday.

They also assaulted a security guard. The high drama lasted for almost two hours before police controlled the situation.

Though a complaint was lodged against the three at Siddapura police station, the case is yet to be registered. The three men, who had come to Lalbagh, had also brought liquor in their bags. They sat on a rock and started consuming liquor. Swamy, a security guard, told them that consuming liquor was prohibited inside Lalbagh.

However, the trio ignored him and continued to drink, police said. Swamy contacted the Security Supervisor Muniraju who arrived to the spot. Swamy tried to snatch the bags containing liquor bottles. The trio, however, hit Swamy and snatched their bags back. Muniraju, sensing a threat, called up the police.

Siddapura police inspector Rajesh and Jayanagar sub-division ACP Yeshwanth Savarkar rushed to the spot. The trio, however, went out of the Lalbagh after cops spoke to them about the matter.

“It was a minor incident. They paid heed to the instructions of the police and went away,” the ACP said.
