Two drown in quarry pit

 Sources said that Rajesh had come to relatives house in Karmbar on vacation and he accidentally slipped, when Prameela, who went to rescue him, also met with watery grave. The artificial quarry pit, said to be around 30 feet deep, was created after the excavation work to make bricks.

Jewellery, cash stolen

Some unidentified miscreants gained entry into a house and decamped with gold ornaments, Rs 33,000 in cash, mobile phone. The total property is worth is Rs 74,000. The house belong to one Sunil Kumar of Ganga Layout near Kankanady. They gained entry by breaking open the door lock.

Man killed

A person was killed when a crane collided against auto rickshaw at Kamila Gutthigaru village in Sullia taluk.  The deceased has been identified as Radhakrishna, driver of autorickshaw.

Ananda Mugera (55),  Dharm-aprakash and a lady who were travelling in the said autorickshaw sustained grievous injuries. Dharmaprakash succumbed to his injuries while on the way to hospital.
