Delay in bus stand work irks commuters

Raged over the unusual delay of development works at KSRTC bus stand at Somwarpet, the general public and members of various organisations gheraod KSRTC (Somwarpet) Engineer to task, alleging that the works in the bus stand have not been complete even after three years.

The toilet in the bus stand will be closed five days in a week and women and children are facing problems due to this. The work on the state-of-the art toilets is progressing at a snail’s pace. The sheets attached to the roof of the bus stand are of poor quality.

Despite many problems, the department concerned has turned a blind eye, the people complained. Autorickshaw Drivers’ Association Secretary Hasanabba, Rakshana Vedike district president Jagadish, taluk President Diwakar, Motor Union President P Madhu, Janandolana Samithi member Dinesh and others were present.

Engineer Diwakar assured that the work on the hi-tech toilet will be completed within 10 days and the work on the bus stand will be finished before the end of November. He added that the board containing the details of the development works will be put up at the bus stop.

Members of various organisations were present.
