In the sparse gastronomic landscape of Dwarka, a new restaurant has come up by the name of Enokee. This is the second offing of Europe-trained Chef Dheeraj Mangothra who has already won praise for his Cafe Blue Tomato and a smaller Ballu Pistol Da Dhaba in Rajouri Garden, bringing the same authentic taste and homely feel to Enokee now.

Here, of course, you can look forward to Indian and Chinese food, besides the Continental fare as available at Blue Tomato. The USP remains Chef Dheeraj’s friendly banter which ensures you never get bored even if alone. Food lovers can easily pick up a tip or two in cookery from the chef too.

Enokee looks up to Cafe Blue Tomato as regards interiors and ambience. Expect the familiar blue sofa with pictures of musical legends, brick and tile look and funky caricatures in places. The service can be called an improvement on Blue Tomato and so is the ambience.

Grab a window seat for a nice view of Dwarka’s skyline and even a glimpse of the Metro; Enokee is located in Manish Plaza from where Dwarka’s Sector 12 Metro Station is close by.

Chef Dheeraj lays a special emphasis on his Indian fare here. “We have prepared the traditional Dal Makhni, Dal Tadka, Dum Aloo, Sarson Ki Machhi, Rara Mutton, among others here. But you’ll find a new world cuisine twist to each. Our Paneer Lababdar, for example, has mushrooms too which adds a different layer of taste to the regular dish. Balance of flavours and quality of ingredients is, again, our corner stone in Enokee.”

Our personal favourites, though, would be among the platter of starters. You won’t regret having the Tikka Paneer, Chicken Tikka, Garlic Chicken and Malai Broccoli. The Dahi ke Kabab, one must acknowledge, are probably the best one can have in any restaurant or hotel of Delhi and the Indian breads are decent. In drinks, go for the Melon Mint and Ginger drink; as for desserts, Chef Dheeraj has a special sugar-free Gulab Jamun for diabetics.

The menu is short and uncluttered and the chef, anyway, helps each guest navigate through it. Try out Enokee for its simple and palatable fare when a number of three to four star restaurants in the city turn out be disappointing.
