Members of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha will tour 16 villages around the Arkavathi Layout on Monday to create awareness about the “blunders” committed by the government.
Addressing a press meet on Saturday, KRRS president Kodihalli Chandrashekhar alleged that the State government was not parting with the developed land as assured earlier.
‘Promise not fulfilled’
“The government had promised that 40 per cent of the developed land would be given to farmers who had parted with their land for the formation of the layout. Now, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has reportedly notified 541 acres of the layout land and the farmers have not been given their due,” he said.
He alleged that the Bangalore Development Authority was altering the boundary of Jakkur Lake, which it developed some years ago, to help denotification. He sought to know the fate of the people who have constructed houses in the layout. He accused the BDA officials of helping private developers and demanded a CBI probe into the alleged denotification scam.
Chandrashekhar said that farmers would assemble near Jakkur at 11 AM and tour the villages.
