2 security guards killed in accident

Two security guards returning home from work were killed after a speeding multiutility vehicle (MUV) rammed their bicycle in Indiranagar police limits on Saturday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Sundaram Jeena, 40, and Rudranjaneya Behura, 32, both residents of Krishnayyanapalya. Police said that the accident occurred when the MUV rammed the bicycle the two were travelling by.

Both were tossed in the air, fell down and sustained massive head injuries. Passersby rushed them to Bowring Hospital, but they died on the way, police said. Both were employed as security guards at a private firm in Ulsoor. Stephen, the driver of the MUV has been arrested for rash and negligent driving.
