Desperately needing a win to stay afloat in the race for a berth in the semifinals, JCT did everything they could but Viva Kerala walked out with a draw, their second successive, to keep alive their hopes for a last four place.

East Bengal edged out Salgaocar SC 1-0 in the other Group A match. Yasif Yakubu scored the winner for East Bengal in the 26th minute, after a nicely worked move from the right flank. East Bengal top the group with four points, while Salgaocar have three.

Shillong’s Lajong FC defeated Dempo Sports Club of Goa 2-1 in a Group D match. Anil Gurung’s scored the opening goal for Lajong in the seventh minute while Antio Periera drew the parity for Dempo in the 35th minute to go into the breather locked at 1-1. Seiko Tukoik scored the winning goal for Lajong in the 81st minute.

Pune FC and Air India played out a 1-1 draw in their Group D match at Guwahati. Harpreet Singh got the first goal of the match in the 43rd minute for Air India, through a well taken freekick. Jeje Lalpekhlua tapped in the equaliser for Pune FC in the 48th minute, after the Air India goalkeeper spilled a freekick from Pierre. Pune FC have four points from two matches, while AI have two.
