An array of artwork and crafts are on display at the ‘Helping Hands Mela 2014’, organised by the HSBC in the City, that began on Monday. The Mela will go on till Saturday.

The event is organised in an effort to provide non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and local communities an opportunity to sell their products. Over 100 NGOs are participating, with their community work profiles ranging from child welfare, tribal development, welfare of the physically and mentally challenged, rural development and arts and crafts development.

The proceeds of the sale would go to charity and would help in the upliftment of the communities.

As many as 47 branches of the bank across 28 cities are participating in the Mela, said senior vice president and branch head, HSBC, India, Srinivas Mendu, in a press release.
