Without mentioning the induction of Renukacharya into the Cabinet, Ravi criticised the move during a programme at Srirama Temple on Ratnagiri road here on Saturday. “Time and party workers teach a lesson to those who commit mistakes. Those leaders who neglect the workers will not a future,” he said and wished that the imbroglio with the party would be solved at the earliest.

Despite Congress and JD(S) striking an alliance, the BJP has been successful in securing 10 seats in the Council polls. Though it had been said that the party has only 600-700 votes in the district, it was defeated only with a margin of 199 votes, he observed.
“The statements of other parties that the BJP does not have much vote in the district and the Congress-JD(S) combine are the two factors responsible for the BJP’s defeat in the Council elections,” he analysed.

Ravi said the workers need not worry over the defeat. “In a very strange case, snake and mongoose have come together for a friendship. Workers should understand that it won’t last long. They came together because of their fear about the BJP. There is a need to strengthen the party from the grassroots level to defeat such powers,” he appealed.
The Gram Panchayat elections are approaching, and the party should show its strength there. The party should also chalk out plans to catch the taluk and zilla panchayats in the days to come, he advised.

The BJP District President M S Bhoje Gowda presided. City President Rajappa, leader B S Vittalrao, Manjunath and Mahabal Rao were present.
Narayan Gowda was elected as the BJP’s city unit president, while Kanakaraj as the rural unit head.
