Missing of CWC files: Officials get anticipatory bail

CWC had filed a complaint against three officials with regard to the missing of files on December 5.

Women and Child Development Deputy Director Shakunthala said “We verified the files within our limits. We have not illegally entered the premises. We verified the files in Circuit House. In fact, Remand Home in charge officer Venkappa had given us the file. After verification, he did not take away the file and filed case against three officers. We had to suspend him on the grounds of dereliction of duty. As case was registered against us, we had to get anticipatory bail.”

As Dakshina Kannada CWC is suspended, the cases have been handed over to Udupi CWC, she added.
