Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and State Congress president Parameshwara on Thursday failed to discuss party issues with Congress president Sonia Gandhi during her brief stopover at the Belgaum airport.

Sonia landed at the airport on her way to Maharashtra to campaign for the Assembly elections.

Soon, she took a helicopter to Kolhapur. Congress leaders, including Siddaramaiah and Parameshwara, could only greet her. Same was the case during her return journey.Parameshwara and Siddaramaiah have not been able to prepare a tentative list of names for appointing heads and members to boards and corporations.

The KPCC has received 10,000 applications from the workers. The State Congress chief is understood to be upset with the chief minister for opposing the creation of the post of deputy chief minister. Parameshwara has been lobbying to get the post. The appointments to board and corporations are unlikely till the end of this month, sources said.
