2 killed in bus collision

According to police, the deceased have been identified as KSRTC driver Parashuram Nimbalkar of Dharwad and private bus driver Gopal.

The KSRTC bus was bound Mangalore from Hyderabad. The mishap occurred while trying to overtake another bus. The private bus was bound to Udupi from Mangalore. A case has been registered.

12 arrested
Police arrested 12 persons who were indulged in betting on cock fighting near Pilichamundi temple at Beluvai village in Mangalore taluk and seized 24 cocks, 7 motorcycles, 2 auto rickshaws, 1 Bolero Jeep and cash Rs 3,497. The arrested are Jerald Alpa, ramesh alias Tharanatha, Giridhara, Harish Poojary, Keshava Poojary, Thomas rodrigus, Ravi Poojary, Sudhakara Moolya, Herald D’Souza, Rama Naik, Dinakara Prabhu and Vincent D’mello. However, three persons have fled the spot.
