The complainant - L S Babu was stabbed on his left thigh by some miscreants. He was taken to Jaishree Nursing Home, Udayanagar where the duty doctor, allegedly without proper examination, stitched the wound and gave an injection. Within an hour, his hand and leg started swelling.

The doctor, who was informed of the condition, said that he would attend after eating. As he was writhing in pain, Babu was taken to Vijai Nursing Home where also the doctor on duty administered painkillers without examining the patient properly. As the condition exacerbated, the doctors later admitted that Babu needed care and he was taken to Mahaveer Jain Hospital.

The doctors diagnosed that Babu had developed gangrene and the leg had to be amputated. They said that the leg could have been saved if Babu was brought within six hours of sustaining injury.

He was later shifted to Wockhardt Hospital, where the leg was amputated. A sum of Rs 5 lakh was spent for treatment. The Forum has ordered Jaishree Nursing Home to pay  Rs 3 lakh as compensation with Rs 5,000 as costs. It also directed Vijai Hospital and the Oriental Insurance Company Limited jointly to pay up another Rs 3 lakhs to the complainant, Babu, within 60 days of the order.

The Forum has directed Ittina Properties Private Limited to pay Rs 3,34,500 to Aneesh of Kerala who was promised a flat, which never materialised. They had claimed to have a project named Ittina Mahaveer near Begur Hobli. Vague promises were made to Aneesh on the construction of flat. He had approached the Forum after realising he was taken for a ride.
