If you love exploring the world of grilled food, then you must head to Barbeque Nation this month. 

The ongoing grill festival does well to satiate your craving for anything that is grilled. The menu is drawn from Mediterranean, American, Oriental, Asian and Indian subcontinent. Mridul Baidya, manager, Barbeque Nation (Kalyan Nagar) says care is taken to retain the authenticity of every dish.

The restaurant serves vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes and has a pretty interesting choice in each of the categories. 

The ‘Catun Spiced Potato’ has a mayonnaise base and has potatoes that are first mashed and then layered before it is fried and served. 

It is spiced with chilli flakes to give a tangy finish. The ‘Crispy Corns’ is another rage. Corns are mixed with cornflour and deep fried and later blend with veggies. 

“This is an excellent starter and the corns remain crisp for a long time,” adds Mridul. The Persian vegetable platter has at least three to four vegetables that are marinated and blend into delicious sauces.  

He points out that in the non-vegetarian section, the ‘Hot Mai Thai’ fish is popular with the regulars. “The fish is mixed with lemon grass. This makes the fish tender and soft and leaves a nice after taste,” he adds. 

The fiery bunch of marinades from the Americas with the hot American Texican marinade are a real treat. “The American Texican dish has baby potatoes that are fried and mixed with chilli flakes to give it a spicy taste. We also use a generous amount of herbs,” he states. 

Another must try is the ‘Yorkshire Lamb’ platter where the meat is first marinated for at least an hour before it is cooked. 

“We make sure that all meat is marinated for an hour before it is cooked. This ensures that the meat dishes have a tangy finish and tastes well. This retains the freshness of the meat,” he states.  Barbeque Nation is  located at No 30, CMR Road, 3rd Floor, 4th Cross, HRBR Layout, Kalyan Nagar.
