'Gramasiri' at Shirangala

The decision was taken at a meeting of KSP held at the Vivekananda PU College here. The meet organised under the chairmanship of KSP district president T P Ramesh also decided to organise a taluk-level Janapada Mela in association with Kannada and Culture Department at Kanive village in March.

The gramasiri programme will be organised to promote Kannada language, folk arts and culture in boarder villages. KSP members should join hands with local villagers for the success of the programme, Ramesh said. He also called upon people to co-operate for the success of Seventh district-level Kannada Sahitya Sammelana to be held at Shanivarasanthe on January 20 and 21.

Taluk KSP treasurer M N Venkatanayak, members E K Subraya, M G Prabhudeva, B L Doddasiddappa, Bharadwaja, K V Suresh and K S Mahesh were present.
