Addressing a news conference on Monday, he said that he has brought the attention of the government towards Kudremukh mining and demanded ban on movement of heavy vehicles carrying sand.

He said that it has been urged at the Upper House to reduce the burden of Deputy Commissioners and hence a post called ‘Additional DC’ has been created and they will be vested with greater powers in the days to come.

“Funds are being misused by the Department of Water Resource and government has been urged to control the same,” he said and added that government has been urged to provide water to Kadur and Birur from Bhadra reservoir. Further no road works can be taken up for 9 months in Malnad region due to rains and hence government should take care to release the funds before the onset of monsoon itself.

When asked about retirement from active politics, he said that one need not contest in elections to serve people. He said that if given and opportunity he will be in active politics.
Party former president and former minister K B Mallikarjuna, District General Secretary Dr D L Vijay Kumar and others were present.
