Techie falls to his death

A software engineer fell to his death from a 500-metre tall cliff in Savanadurga on Saturday. 

The victim has been identified as Dileep, a resident of Sahakarnagar. According to the police, the incident occurred when he was standing on a slope to click pictures and lost his balance. He was killed instantly due to massive internal bleeding, added the police. 

Dileep was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead, the police said. 

Fake cops loot house

Four men who posed themselves as police, made away with Rs 30,000 in cash and other valuables from a house in Green Glen Layout in HSR Layout police limits late on Friday night.

Police said four persons came to the house of Ramesh and identified themselves as policemen. They said that they had received information that Ramesh was selling liquor from his house illegally and hence they were searching his house.

As the gang entered the house, they tied Ramesh, his wife and mother with rope and gagged them. They later took the almirah keys and made away with cash and valuables.
