A month-long file clearance drive will be held at the taluk and district levels across the State from November 1, Law Minister T B Jayachandra said on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters here, Jayachandra said the month-long drive will be similar to the file clearance exercise taken up in the State secretariat in Bangalore last month.

As many as 58,000 files were disposed of during the drive in Bangalore, he said.

Award for Sakaala

Jayachandra said Sakaala project of providing time-bound government services to citizens had won the Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and Management (CAPAM)- 2014 international innovation award.

The award recognises and celebrates innovation in public service at the international level, Jayachandra said.

Facilities

The minister said teams from Veterinary Council of India (VCI) which visited veterinary colleges at Hassan, Bidar and Shimoga had expressed satisfaction at the facilities at the institutions. However, some vested interests were trying to instigate the students to launch protests, he said and termed it politically motivated.
