JOIN USB M Muniraju, owner of Balaji Constructions in HRBR Layout was abducted along with his driver Muniraju when he had gone to a bar in Kalyan Nagar last Tuesday. Subsequently, the abductors called his wife Vanajakshi and demanded a ransom of Rs 25 lakh for his release.
In her complaint, Vanajakshi alleged that one Ravi Reddy and his associates had abducted her husband. Following this, the police swung into action and rushed a team to Andhra Pradesh. Muniraju was rescued in Andhra Pradesh.
Efforts to secure the release of the builder are underway. The police, however, refused to divulge further details.
Youth injured
Setu Thakur (19), an employee of a steel godown was injured after a gas cylinder exploded at a warehouse in Jnana Bharathi police station limits on Monday afternoon. The warehouse belonged to the steel shop located nearby in RHCS Layout and was used for storing surplus goods. A case of negligence has been registered.
