JOIN USA 23-year-old homemaker committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Mahalakshmi Layout on Friday morning.
According to the police, the deceased is Nandini, a resident of Mahalakshmi Layout. Her father Rajappa, in a complaint, alleged that Nandini took the extreme step as she could no longer bear her husband’s torture.
A native of Nagamangala in Mandya, Nandini had married Muniyappa, a private firm employee, three years ago. The couple have an 18-month-old son, Milan.
On Friday morning, Nandini hanged herself from a ceiling fan at 5.30 am. Her husband found her hanging at 7 am, said the police.
Rajappa told the police that Nandini often complained of dowry harassment by her husband. He also said that the harassment was the reason behind his daughter’s decision to kill herself, said the police. Police have taken Muniyappa into custody.
