<p>Delhi Eye gives a view of the Capital’s popular places like the Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Akshardham Temple, etc in a short span of 20 minutes.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Giving an extraordinary view of the city, Delhi Eye, India’s largest wheel housed in an amusement park in Kalindi Kunj has become the next-big-thing!<br /> This giant wheel rotates across many popular sites including the Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Akshardham Temple, Humayun’s Tomb, Lotus Temple and also gives a panoramic view of Connaught Place – that too in just a short span of 20 minutes.<br /><br />Strongly reminiscent of London Eye of the United Kingdom and Singapore Flyer, the wheel stands tall at 250 feet, equivalent to an 18-storey building. There are 36 cabins and seven to eight persons can sit in each cabin. Altogether 280 people can enjoy the ride at a time.<br /><br />Each cabin, enclosed in unbreakable, dark tinted glass is air-conditioned and soundproof. There are also a few VIP cabins.<br /><br />The ride comprises three rounds and for a ride, one has to pay Rs 300. The ferris-wheel, which was opened to public on October 2 is designed by a Dutch firm, Dutch Wheels and Venkoma Rides. The firm also has to its credit the construction of London and Singapore giant wheels. <br /><br />After the delay of four years, Delhiites will now be able to experience this inimitable ride. The wheel was to be inaugurated in September 2010 by actor Shah Rukh Khan before the Commonwealth Games, which had to be called off in the last minute. There were ugly scenes and the police had resorted to lathicharge to disperse the curious onlookers. <br /><br />The Delhi Eye provides a place where parents and children can let down their hair and enjoy the experience.
