OMC staff alleges murder plot

The CBI is investigating into alleged illegal mining by the OMC and other mining companies in Anantapur Reserved Forest area.

Anjaneyalu has been deputy general manager of the company for the last four years. In his complaint to the CBI, he said the company demolished an office set up in the mining area soon after the Centre ordered for CBI inquiry.

The documents in the office were taken to an unknown place. Expressing his opposition to the demolition, Anjaneyalu questioned the seniors what would the company’s reply if the CBI demanded for the documents. He said since the day he opposed demolition of the office the seniors of the company had been harassing him. He and members of his family had been facing threat to their lives. He had sent the complaints to offices of CBI in Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Anjaneyalu, speaking to Deccan Herald, said, “Disturbed by their harassment I attempted to commit suicide by taking sleeping tablets on December 20. Somehow I survived. I have been suffering from heart problems”. He is taking treatment in a private hospital in Bangalore.

Meanwhile, the OMC has filed a complaint in Bellary alleging that Anjaneyalu and his family members had misappropriated Rs 45 lakh.
