Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers Ananth Kumar has expressed anger over the increasing rape incidents in schools in Bangalore and the failure of the government to protect children.
The minister was speaking to reporters at the Yeshwantpur railway station on Saturday, during the flagging of new trains. “The government needs to stop blaming the school managements or the victims’ relatives. It is the duty and responsibility of the State government to protect its citizens, especially children, and it is not doing a good job of it,” he said.
“Such heinous and cruel crimes are being committed against our children and those who are guilty should be punished and justice should not be delayed,” Kumar said.
