2 held for obscene comments on Facebook

The Banashankari police have arrested two persons on Sunday for posting obscene comments on a social media platform against the daughter of the woman, who has alleged that she was raped by Raghaveshwara Bharathi, the seer of Ramachandrapura Mutt.

Based on the complaint lodged by daughter of the victim, the police arrested Sanath Palappadi, an agriculturist from Hunsur in Mysore district and Santosh, an insurance agent from the City.

They were arrested for posting abusive and obscene comments on the Facebook account of the complainant. They have also threatened the complainant and her family to withdraw the case against the seer failing which they would face the consequences.

The arrested have been booked under provisions of the Information Technology Act. The family also had received a call from an underworld operator threatening them to withdraw the case against seer.
