BJP President Amit Shah has dissolved the party's all national cells pending their reconstitution and appointed Vijay Chauthaiwale as the new incharge of its foreign and Overseas Friends of BJP (AFBJP) cell with immediate effect.

The party has also appointed BJP National Vice President and Lucknow Mayor Dinesh Sharma as BJP's national membership incharge.

It has also appointed four coincharges of the party's national membership campaign--party vice president Vinay Sahasrabudhe, national secretaries Arun Singh and Sudha Yadav, besides former Karnataka Minister C T Ravi.

The new appointees in the party's ambitious membership campaign will steer the drive across the country and ensure coordination with state leaders.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the digital membership drive on Saturday by becomming its first member after he renewed his membership. Shah said the party aims to triple its membership from the current 3.5 crore to 10 crore members across the country.

Shah is in the process of revamping the party after his formal ratification as party chief by the BJP National Council on August 9.

He has already put in place his new team and revamped the party's top decision-making bodies like the Parliamentary Board and the Central Election Committee by easing out the old guard including L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi from them and paving the way for younger leaders.
