JD(S) leaders join BJP

Former JD(S) MLA Sunil Hegde and his father V D Hegde, a former MLC, joined the BJP in presence of party state president Pralhad Joshi in Bangalore on Thursday.

The junior Hedge said, he had decided to quit the JD(S) after party Uttara Kannada candidate Shivananda Naik withdrew his nomination from the Lok Sabha polls earlier this year and the party leadership could do nothing about it. 

Hegde said he had joined the BJP impressed by the policies and programmes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
