Hassan schools may get coveted call from PM today

Last Updated 13 November 2014, 19:47 IST

Students and teachers of two government schools in the district will await for that coveted call on Friday morning.

They are among those shortlisted schools across the country, the students of which will receive a phone call from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Children’s Day.

The schools chosen are the primary school at Pete in Holenarsipur taluk and the government high school at Hanumanthapur in Hassan taluk.

The prime minister will speak to representatives of schools as part of the ‘Bal Swachchata Saptah’ (children’s cleanliness week).

But, what could play spoilsport is the fact that the turn of these schools may not come, within the stipulated time. In such a scenario, they will get at least an SMS from Modi.
