It’s hard to find good Japanese food in Bengaluru, but ‘Teppan Japanese Grill and Sushi Bar’ presents diners a wide range of Japanese flavours.

The ambience of the restaurant is warm, pleasant and it could instantly put you in a good mood on wintry days like these.

This month, the eatery will be host the ‘Sushi Robatayaki Festival’ at their restaurant on Ulsoor Road.

The specially designed menu will feature some of the most exquisite dishes like ‘karai kon’, which is delicately spiced sweet corn, seasoned with black salt, lemon juice and tongarashi, wrapped with sushi vinegared rice and nori; ‘karai sake-salmon’, which is seasoned tongarashi, scallions, lemon mayo wrapped with sushi vinegared rice and nori; ‘temaki’, a handmade cone shaped roll; ‘yasai temaki’, iceberg lettuce, avocado, tempura crunch glazed with sweet miso, hand rolled with sushi vinegared rice and nori; ‘ebi tempura’ or ‘prawn tempura’; ‘maguro yaki’, which is grilled tuna, iceberg lettuce, cucumber, scallion, glazed with teriyaki sauce, hand rolled with sushi vinegared rice and nori and ‘unagi kabayaki maki’.

As the name of the festival suggests, the stars of the culinary fest are a range of authentic ‘sushi’ and ‘robatayaki’.

The word ‘robata’ refers to a special type of charcoal grill used to cook Japanese food in which the ingredients are grilled and pan-fried in a special iron griddle.

There will be a mix of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes.

‘Teppan Japanese Grill and Sushi Bar’ is located on 2nd floor, 1/3, Ulsoor Road; for reservations, call 32569029.
