Last Updated 17 November 2014, 03:03 IST

Body parts of a man was found in two different sacks kept at a short distance from each other in south Delhi’s Dakshinpuri area on Sunday morning.

However, the victim’s head was found missing, thus leaving him unidentified yet, police said.
A search of bits of clothes left on his body parts failed to provide any clues to his identity. Police suspect the victim to be aged between 20 and 30.

The recovery of the first sack was reported to the police by a shop owner who found the blood-stained sack lying outside his store early in the morning.

A police team arrived there and opened the sack to find the lower limbs of a man in it.
Soon, another resident of the same area informed police about the recovery of another sack with blood marks very close to where the first sack was found. A human torso was found in that bag.

Police suspected that a third sack could be lying somewhere around. A search operation in that locality was launched, but it yielded no results.

“We have checked the body parts thoroughly for any documents, but no clues have emerged yet. We have informed other police stations to report if any person in the age bracket of 20 and 30 has been missing for the past few days,” said a senior police officer.

Based on the condition of the body parts, police suspected that it must have been not for too long that the victim was killed.

“It was not in a decomposed state. The killing must have happened not before Friday night,” the officer said. The sacks must have been disposed off in that area only after post-midnight on Sunday.

Police said they have spoken to locals and they said the area from where the sacks were recovered generally sees public presence till late nights. Others in the locality are being questioned.

A case of murder has been registered at Ambedkar Nagar police station.
