Sakharayapattana PHC likely to be upgraded

A proposal to upgrade Sakharayapattana PHC has been submitted to the government, said MLA C T Ravi.

Speaking at janasamparka meeting here on Tuesdaym he said that two acre land would be required for upgrading a PHC. “We have appealed to the gram panchayat to earmark land. The land has already been identified,” he said.

When villagers complained that Rs 10 is collected from patients and para medical staff do not work properly, Taluk medical officer Dr Prabhu said that there are two doctors in the PHC.

Arrangements have been made to provide first aid treatment during emergency. A 108 ambulance has already been sanctioned to the PHC and the ambulance will arrive within a week. No fee is collected from patients.

Dr Usha said that doctor’s quarters is not suitable for living. If it is repaired, then there is no problem to reside in the quarters. The MLA directed PWD engineer to repair the quarters.
The MLA said that a fee of Rs 10 can be collected from patients by issuing a receipt and the fee can be used for maintaining health centre.

Complaints on difficulty in availing ‘pahani’ at Naada kacheri poured in at the meeting.

“Sandhya Suraksha is not disbursed among beneficiaries for the last six months. There is no veterinary doctors at veterinary hospital. The gram panchayat had constructed ashraya houses at Hosoor. However, the forest department is claiming it as forest land and is making arrangement to evict the dwellers. The problem should be solved at the earliest. There has been increase in cattle theft. The police should initiate measures to check traffic congestion.” said the residents.

Sakharayapattana Gram Panchayat President Chandramma presided. Kadur Tahsildar C Chinnaraju, ZP member Kalmarudappa and others were present.
