JOIN USA homemaker committed suicide after being reportedly harassed for dowry at her residence in Ejipura in the early hours of Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Kavitha (25). She was married to Daniel Richard, a painting worker, around four years ago and the couple had a three-year-old daughter.
Daniel and his parents were harassing her for dowry. Unable to bear the torture, she hung herself from the ceiling of a room. The incident came to light on Saturday morning when Daniel went into the room and saw the body, said the police.
He informed the police and Kavitha's parents, who rushed to the spot. The body was shifted for postmortem. Based on the complaint filed by Kavitha's parents, Daniel has been arrested. Viveknagar police have registered a case.
