JOIN USCongress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of thriving on the falsehoods and canards he has been spreading about the previous UPA regime.
“In the last Lok Sabha election, Modi promised you big dreams. But has he been able to generate employment? Has he checked corruption? And, above all, has he brought back the black money stashed in foreign bank accounts,” he asked the crowd of Panki in Palamu and Manika in Latehar. The Congress vice-president was addressing election meetings for party candidates a day before campaigning ends for the first phase polls in Jharkhand.
Targetting Modi’s Clean India campaign, Rahul said: “Instead of ushering in ‘achche din’, he has given you a broom. I am not against a cleanliness drive, but what the BJP is doing is just a marketing gimmick. In fact, it was the Congress which genuinely cared about you as it brought you MNREGA and amended the Land Acquisition Act, thereby empowering you.”
