A one-and-a-half-year-old toddler was allegedly raped by Praveen Basappa Hosamani (21) at Hombal village in Gadag taluk on Saturday night reports DHNS.
Police said the youth had lured the child to his house and committed the crime. When the child’s mother searched for her in the neighbourhood, she heard her screams from a nearby house and rushed to the house only to find her crying. Later, the parents of the child rushed her to district hospital. The police have booked the accused under the Pocso Act. The toddler and the accused have been sent to KIMS, Hubballi, for medical examination.
