For actor Chetan Chandra, it is quite a busy time  since he is shooting  for ‘Plus’ (+) and a bilingual movie to be made in Tamil and Kannada.

This actor, who is shuttling from one set to another is enjoying portraying different roles and pushing himself to the unexplored.

Though he doesn’t reveal much about his role in ‘Plus’, he vouches that it is something that no actor has ever done.

“It is a one-of-a-kind movie. No one could have done such a role, like the one I have in ‘Plus’ (+). It is nothing like what I have done earlier,” says Chetan. He adds that all the characters in the movie are different.

“The project is very unique. If one can recollect projects like ‘Anniyan’ and ‘Ghajini’, they were all movies which were diverse in theme and character. These movies were all experimental, and were copied later. Just like that, this movie is a notch different. This is a very important project for me,” says Chetan.

He says that the movie combines all elements like action, suspense, romance and a myriad other emotions. So, how did he prepare for the role? “If someone had made a movie like this earlier, I would have something to refer to. But since there is no such guide, it has been challenging. I have to experiment a lot in the movie.”

“The filmmakers wanted someone with a soft face and a tough body. I luckily fit their demands and thus the project,” he says. Chetan says that he is glad with the first schedule of the movie that he just finished. “I was a little confused. But my director was gracious and guided me well.”

Why is the movie named ‘Plus’? He explains, “Plus means positive. The characters of the movie are positive; it may be an attitude or so. This does not mean that the characters are good in nature. The symbol ‘+’ will  be clearly defined in the beginning and the climax of the movie.”

Prod him about the movie and he says that though it is a unique project, he isn’t nervous about the same. “I know I am in safe hands. I’m confident about the director, the technicians and the production house, which are the best in the industry. I’m extremely grateful to them. I’m hopeful that the movie will also create a positive impact on my career too,” he says.

For the other project — the bilingual movie — he is learning Tamil. “Bengaluru is a cosmopolitan city and one can always hear people speaking different languages here apart from Kannada:  be it Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu or Malayalam. I can understand the language but I’m learning it now. I am hopeful that I will be able to dub for myself when the project is done,” says the young actor.

How does Chetan maintain his looks? “I workout religiously. I have maintained my eight packs through the past years. Even if I reach home late, I hit the gym. I love to workout. All my latest projects demand this look, and  I work hard to maintain it,” he sums up.
