UPSC rejects proposal on promotions

The Government has a quota of three posts to promote its non-civil officers to IAS rank. So, it had proposed 15 names at 1:5 ratio to the UPSC. The Commission chairman had also fixed the interview date on December 31 for the candidates. The names of Vishu Kumar, Director of Department of Information, Bhrungeesh, Joint Director, Department of Information were also in the list.

However, the UPSC has found that the selection committee of the Government has not followed certain rules, sources said.
