Two alleged thieves ran out of luck after going on a snatching spree  in west Delhi, police said on Thursday.

They had stolen one motorcycle and snatched three mobile phones on Tuesday before one of the victims took the help of public and police to catch them.
Tarun and Praveen had not learnt their lessons despite being given a brief chase by Sunil Aggarwal, a 24-year-old shopkeeper in Uttam Nagar.

Aggarwal was waiting for a friend in the local market around 5 pm on Tuesday when Tarun and Praveen arrived on a motorcycle and snatched his mobile phone from his hand.

Aggarwal had immediately drawn the attention of bystander Sardar Jagbir Singh, 26, who accompanied him in the chase.

However, they managed to race ahead, leaving the two far behind.

However, Aggarwal and Singh continued searching for the two in the neighbourhood. As soon as they reached near Gujranwala Apartment in Vikaspuri, they saw the thieves snatching the mobile phone of a woman, said police in a release.

This time, the snatchers were intercepted by Sunil and Singh by raising an alarm.
It drew the attention of public who ensured that the snatchers could not escape.
Some policemen from Vikaspuri police station were nearby and they arrived at the scene to arrest the two accused persons.

Police said five snatched mobile phones and one stolen motorcycle have been recovered from them.

“An hour before snatching Aggarwal’s phone, the two accused had made away with another person’s phone in Rajouri Garden. Before that, they had stolen a motorcycle from Dabri,” an officer told Deccan Herald.

Police said the unemployed duo was found to be involved in at least six cases of snatchings and thefts in west Delhi..
