Buoyed by the overwhelming response in the sales of live Pangasius fish, Karnataka State Cooperative Fisheries Federation Ltd., has decided to introduce the fish in three more stalls in the city from Sunday.

Managing Director of the Federation Gangadhar V Maddikeri told Deccan Herald on Saturday that it has been decided to sell the fish at the stalls near Nanjumalige, Teresian College and RMP Quarters at Kuvempunagar in the city.

Apart from extending the fish to three more stalls, it has also been decided to increase the stock to 600 kg against 250 kg, anticipating good business on Sunday.

On Saturday too, there was good response for the fish at the stalls at Kukkarahalli lake and Paduvarahalli.

At Kukkarahalli, the entire stock of fish was sold by noon, while at Paduvarahalli it was sold up to 1 pm, making for 250 kg total sales in the day.

On Friday, when the Federation introduced the sales of live fish, 250 kg of fish was sold out in less than two hours.

The Federation decided to launch the sales of live fish to cater to the customers demand for fresh and healthy catch. The Dederation has been harvesting Pangasius fish in the backwaters of KRS for the purpose.
