The US state of Pennsylvania invited the Indian business community to invest there, offering immense scope in terms of energy, skilled workforce and favourable taxation regimes.

Delegates from Pennsylvania were in the City on Monday to highlight business prospects by investing in the state, and they met with dignitaries at an interactive session, organised by the Pennsylvania  - Office of International Business Development (OIBD), in association with the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) and the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), themed “Investment opportunities in the State of Pennsylvania”.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Secretary of International Business Development, DCED, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Wilfred Muskens, said, “Pennsylvania provides for an open environment, conducive for doing business, with a lot of opportunities to boost trade and make investments. Since the Indsutrial Revolution, the state has been a frontrunner in steel and energy production, thanks to the existence of resources such as steel and coal.”

Pennsylvania, which boasts of a GSP (gross state product) of $603.87 billion, already has around 50 Indian companies working there, providing 1,376 jobs, proving its status as a major FDI destination, Muskens claimed.
