Reality shows are an inevitable part of the entertainment industry today and has commanded a loyal viewership. Ask any youngster and he or she will reel out their favourite reality show one after another. TV soaps, once a rage, have made way for reality shows.

Today, the viewer is doused with such shows. “There was an overdose of saas-bahu serials and now it's the reality shows. I am looking forward to the other shows that will be aired on TV. I saw a few promos on TV and this show called, Powder has caught my attention,” said Amitha, a homemaker. “It looks like it has all the ingredients required to popularise it. It is a welcome change from the reality shows that were all over our faces,” she added.

There are a host of shows coming to the television channels on themes that have not been explored ever. Movie production companies like Yash Raj Films and Red Chillies Entertainment are venturing into TV. "I’m a big fan of the MTV Roadies show. Though it has started this year, majority of it will happen in 2010. I like the action and also the tasks that the participants are asked to do. It is exciting and every episode always has a twist. It also gives us youngsters a reason to watch TV. I have watched almost all the seasons and I’m waiting to see the turns Roadies 7 takes as well,” said Vivek, a Graphics designer.

Sangeetha, a student says, “I have seen the promos of some reality show called Lift Kara De, which will be hosted by Karan Johar. It includes some celebrities and their fans. Iam waiting for this show to start because I think it will be exciting to see celebrities find their biggest fans," and adds, “But I only wish they don't bring in some have-been stars and force us to see them. We have had enough of them on other reality shows."

Mahesh, a businessman can't wait to watch the show, Female Model Hunt which will be hosted by Bipasha Basu. "I haven’t seen the promos yet but the very fact that she will be hosting it makes me want to watch it. It has the same concept of America’s Next Top Model which was hosted by supermodel Tyra Banks,” says Mahesh and adds, “I am not that much of a couch potato, but I happened to see an advertisement of this serial called Seven and I think that nothing like that has ever been telecast on television before. So I guess I’m waiting to see it,” said Rashmi, a student.
