The BJP on Tuesday ticked off its ministers and members of Parliament for not declaring their assets to Parliament and asked them to do so in the next 24 hours.
Many of the MPs and ministers have not declared assets to their respective Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha secretariats despite a similar diktat issued to them about a month ago. The leaders were directed by the top brass during a parliamentary party meeting held on Tuesday morning.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah were away campaigning for elections in Jharkhand and patriarch L K Advani took the lead. Modi wants the MPs to be above board which he believes would help in bringing accountability among politicians, fight corruption and also work as the first step in offering good governance.
